An Elegant Winter Wedding Card

Just over a week ago my husband and I travelled from Ottawa to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to celebrate his youngest brother’s wedding. When it came to making a card for the lovely couple I had an idea in mind; I wanted to use the ‘Mr & Mrs’ stamp set and the new 5/8″ Flower Trim from the Spring catalogue. I knew that I’d be using Elegant Eggplant as their colour was purple; I decided to keep it simple and paired it with Very Vanilla and added just a touch of silver by embossing the ‘&’. I have a really hard time not using my Big Shot on a card and of course this card was no exception! I used one of the shapes out of the Apothecary Framelit set for the main image and the Elegant Lines embossing folder to add that extra little dimension and texture to the card.

I didn’t want to use the Flower Trim as a ribbon but wanted to clump the rosettes together in the upper corner so I cut in between each flower and adhered them to the card using some glue dots. Since it was a very special wedding card I needed to add just a little something extra so I added some pearls to the center of the flowers. I also used the swirl image from the ‘Everything Eleanor’ stamp set.
We were so happy we could be there and help them celebrate this very special day!
