Faux Silk Technique & Beautifully Baroque
One of the great things about being a SU! demo is getting together with other demos to chat and to see what we are each working on and a Team meeting is the perfect chance to do just that. This past Tuesday was the Stamping for the Stars Team meeting; I just love seeing my team and hearing about all they have been up to since I last saw them (both in terms of stamping & their regular life!).
The card they made was one using the Faux Silk Technique which I saw over at fellow demo Julie Davison’s YouTube channel (you can see the how to video here). The technique is quite quick but gave the image a really nice, textured look; plus it used our new Crepe Paper (I’m always looking for different ways to use it).
If you’d like to attend these fun & informative meetings you can email me for more information or hop on over here for more info on becoming a SU! demo. Anyone on my Team is welcome to my bi-monthly meetings!

Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek!
Only 1 more sleep until the new Holiday Catalogue goes live and I can’t wait! Every year I say that the Holiday catalogue is the best one to date…..this year definitely doesn’t disappoint! I have so many projects in mind that I want to do I think I just need to write them all down and then work from that list lol I just had to share a sneak peek with you of a new stamp set & accessory that I’m looking forward to using on a variety of projects.
The new stamp set is called Truly Grateful which is one of my favs from the catalogue (I really love the background image that comes in the set) and think it will be my go to set this fall! The 1-1/4″ burlap ribbon adds the natural element I was looking for this card. For texture under the button I just took a piece of the new burlap ribbon and pulled it apart to get smaller thiner pieces of the burlap!
Do you have your copy of the new catalogue? If not email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I would be happy to send one to you ASAP…..you really won’t want to miss all it has to offer!

Highlights from Convention 2013: Be the Difference ~ Part 2
There were so many pictures I have to share from Convention that I had to break it up into 2 posts. The photo above is from the Gathering Place where there were a ton of display boards up, a products section, demo booths & much more. As I had mentioned in Part 1, one of the highlights for me was earning entrance into the Recognition Room! The Recognition Room had big, comfy leather couches & chairs, we could get our picture taken against a backdrop that resembled the frame on the front of our catalogue, have a refreshment & just relax and get a bit of quiet amongst the craziness of Convention. This past year was my best year to date with Stampin’ Up! and I couldn’t do it without my amazing customers & wonderful team!!
One of the things that was shared at Convention was the new Holiday catalogue but as much as I’d love to show you it I can’t until August 1st when it goes live. Next week I’ll be sharing a few projects with you that use items from the new Holiday catalogue.
Enjoy the rest of my pictures
Highlights from Convention 2013: Be the Difference ~ Part 1
It is hard to believe that Convention was getting started just a week ago. This year we were celebrating 25 Years of Stampin’ Up! and we knew it was going to be a BIG party…..with 5,800 attendees!! Salt Lake City was definitely invaded by all of us stampers and there were signs of it everywhere from flags on the lamp posts to signs outside of some restaurants. I had a great time, saw so many different ideas and learned a lot that it is really hard to pick my favourite thing from Convention. One thing that I absolutely loved was being able to hang out in the Recognition Room. This was a room that Stampin’ Up! created for anyone who received an award, celebrated an Anniversary, or reached a milestone; I was SO excited to have received a Recruiting Level 1 award this year which just put the cherry on top of my best year yet! Thank you so much to all of my amazing customers & my team and I can’t wait to see what this new year has in store.
Here are just a few pictures and I’ll be sharing more tomorrow!
Swapping at Convention 2013
Day 1 of Convention has begun!!! Today is going to be a full day and we are starting off by going for a tour of Home Office. This will be my 3rd time going but it is always fun and exciting. I’m going to keep this post short and get right to the point
Tonight I’ll be participating in my first organized swap at a Convention. We just had to use items from the new catalogue so I decided to use some of the new In Colours, buttons and the super cute Perfect Blend stamp set. I decided to use a layout sketch from Mojo Monday (I used Mojo 301 Sketch) and to add a little something extra to the coffee cup a created a patterned ’sleeve’ by using some of our Soho Subway DSP.
Look out for tomorrow’s post where I’ll be sharing some pictures from the opening general session & the Opening Social!
